A Bit About Me
I am a Bioinformatician with a background in Microbiology and Biochemistry. So that essentially means that I am a biologist who can work with computers.
I make my living as a Research Associate working for Wockhardt Research Centre. We work in the developmental aspects of Recombinant protein production.
The growing trend of data generation in the post genome sequencing age has made necessary the use of computers in traditional Biology labs.
A list of projects that I have been involved in:
Metabolic pathway analysis
Interaction and docking studies of ligands and Receptors
Modeling and Simulation of Fermenter Processes
Latest Presentations
I have held presentations on the following topics. To view the files right click on the link and Select target As. Downloading the files will be much faster than viewing them online.
- Unstructured Proteins: Normally Proteins have a definiote structure and structure determines function. Say hello to a class of previously unknown proteins: ones that perform ubiquitous functions but have no definite structure
- RNAi: My understanding of RNA interference presented here
- RNAi movie Also a movie showing the mechanism of RNA interference. Opens with Internet explorer or any other browser having FLASH
Talk in St Xavier's College
Recently I have had the good fortune to share my knowledge in Bioinformatics with the students of Microbiology in St Xaviers College
